Barolo Ravera Cagliero
It was once said that Barolo was the wine of kings and the king of wines. Now that kings have gone out of fashion, Barolo has become a classy, prestigious wine for those who want to break away from the average.
The elegance, the pleasant harmony have become the vital components of its image, even if the great structure has remained, and the richness of the aromas and flavor remains a guarantee of value and typicality.
The architect of the struggles and successes, the first actor on a stage that sees many exceptional performers gathered is the Nebbiolo grape.
The Barolo area is, in its own way, small, limited to the hills and valleys of only eleven municipalities.
Barolo passes long months before being able to access the consumer’s table: at least three years must elapse starting from 1 January following the time of harvesting the grapes; a very long time of maturation and refinement, partly spent in oak barrels (at least two years) and all the rest in the containers that the cellarman deems most suitable for the product he has available.
Barolo Ravera Cagliero is large, in garnet red colors, reminiscent of the blushes of summer sunsets, in aromas that are announced complete with very fresh fruity scents and insinuating hints of spice; even the white truffle, another protagonist of these hills, is often uncomfortable to complete the attributes of a great Barolo.
Also in the combination, important combinations are expected: it is ideal for large roasts, for appetizing cheeses, for game dishes, for stews and grilled meats; but also some very tasty appetizers and some first courses seasoned with abundance can be a worthy companion for adventure.
