Barbera D’Alba D.O.C. Superior 2016
There is an old diatribe that continues to thrill people: there are those who want “Barbera” as a female name, and those who instead claim that it is male, like its vinous characters. However, the dialect tradition is on the side of the former.
Its color is purplish red, rich in a very pleasant lively shade. A bouquet rich in flowers and fruits recalls peach, apricot, apple and wild flowers.
Rich is its flavor, structure and body, with a marked acidity that makes it win over time.
There are numerous possibilities for getting along with dishes, starting with fried food, moving on to boiled meats, medium-aged cheeses, the traditional bagna càuda.
The title “Superior” is conferred, as required by the relevant Regulations, thanks to the prolonged aging in wooden barrels and the particularly severe thinning of the grapes in the vineyard, before ripening.
